Today’s episode unpacked a widely known study on the impact of thought leadership. Here are a few insights we discussed:

1- 89% of decision makers say that Thought leadership can be effective in enhancing their perceptions of an organization

2- 88% say the impact is in perception of their capabilities

3- 88% say perception of trust is increased

 

The insights came from 3200 C-suite B2B decision makers. It tells us a lot about their perceptions on the content they consume.

 

They report that it is directly responsible for thinking highly of a company’s expertise and it can lower their perception if not done right or at all.

 

When you are creating content, remember who you wish to communicate with…

 

In a typical business structure, there are three layers:

 

  • Workers
  • Supervisors/Manager
  • C-Suite

 

Here’s what content is relevant to them:

 

Workers- content that will help them do their jobs better

Supervisors- content that will help them justify their positions to the C-suite

C-Suite- content that helps them drive their business forward – think strategically.
